Handheld barcode readers has
long become one of the most important devices in the Point of Sale
industry. A CCD barcode reader works by illuminating visible red LEDs light onto a bar code.
The CCD lens will then measure the ambient light from the bar code and send
the signal to the sensors. A CCD barcode scanner works very well on small bar code labels,
however, it isn't perfect. One of the main disadvantages of CCD barcode scanners
is that they have poor reading performances under brightly lit area (ie.
outdoors environments). In Addition, a typical CCD barcode reader usually cannot compete with
a laser scanner in terms of their scan distance or so called "scan depth of field".
A Handheld Laser bar code reader or "laser gun"
uses a laser beam as a light source. As the laser beam scan across the left/right edges of a
barcode, a photodiode is used to
measure the intensity of the light reflected back from the bar code and
reflect laser light as TTL signal. In both pen readers and laser
scanners, the light emitted by the reader is tuned to a specific
frequency and the photodiode is designed to detect only this modulated
light of the same frequency. Generally, a laser barcode scanner tends to be more expensive than
a CCD scanner.
Fametech Inc. is an
ISO-9002 certified manufacturer that produces high quality
products in the worldwide Automatic Identification and Data Collection (AIDC)
market. All of our products are designed and manufactured in-house. Our
barcode scanners come with Hand-Free Scanning or "Auto Scan" function
that allows operators to scan barcodes without touching the trigger.
This function has become a standard and popular feature in today's Auto
ID market.
CCD bar code readers are among the key peripherals for process automation products. Contact-type CCD bar code readers must make physical contact with the surface of a bar code before scanning. In general, scanning is facilitated with the use of long-range, non-contact-type CCD sensors.
Recent development trend favors the non-contact-type readers. Fametech Inc., (Tysso)
for instance, has introduced
long-range CCD bar code readers, the TS
series, which scan at a distance of between
10cm and 40cm from bar codes. In general,
laser scanners can read bar codes from a longer distance than CCD bar code readers. Some companies develop laser scanners
that are suitable special applications and specific working environments. For instance, some industrial laser scanners such as Symbol P300PRO
can scan a barcode label from a distance greater than three meters.
Fametech Inc.(Tysso) has more than 12 years
of experience in OEM/ODM manufacturing CCD and laser barcode scanners. We are able to design and manufacture customized barcode modules as well as barcode decoders depending on customer's needs. Tysso
Barcode Scanners are able to work with a wide range of various systems: PC, MAC, or special
POS systems ... Our
customers who buy our CCD and Laser hand held barcode scanner can choose
between RS-232, Keyboard, or USB interfaces; other custom connection options such as Wand, RJ-11, RJ-45, JST are also available upon OEM requests. Further more, The decoder firmware of all Tysso Barcode Scanners
are upgradeable through a piece of RS232 cable and the firmware upgrading utility. We also
offer full technical supports such as free technician and factory assembler training for CKD or SKD business.
