How do I use my cash drawer?
Normally, the Cash Drawer is connected to a Receipt Printer with RJ-11 connector or directly attached to the POS terminal's Serial (COM Port) Installation is simple and straightforward, most of existing POS software has pre-programmed with command to link with the cash drawer and kick the drawer out. Further more, Some Win32 Drivers of receipt printers has built-in with cash drawer kick-out function.
 

What is a cash drawer?
A cash drawer is used for  temporarily storing cash during securely for POS applications.  cash drawers are made of rugged steel, employs durable drawer sliding tracks, and comes with the high quality rock.  Typically, each cash drawer is shipped with two keys on a ring for the user's convenience.

 

How do open cash drawer through an Epson-compatible receipt printer under QBASIC?
Use Command Line:      PRINT #1,CHR$(&H1B);"p";CHR$(0);CHR$(100);CHR$(250);

 

How to check the cash drawer status through micro switch ?
PRINT #1, CHR$(&1HB);"u";CHR$(0);
INPUT #1, DRAWER_STAT
(Note: This command is only available for the cash drawer models with built-in Micro Switch)
